A much-loved pub in Adelaide’s south has officially opened its doors following a multimillion-dollar revamp, highlighted by an expansive new alfresco terrace and beer garden.
The Aussie Inn, on Main South Rd at Hackham, relaunched on Friday, with Australian swimming champ Kyle Chalmers pouring the first beer.
The refurbished venue has expanded its footprint by more than 40 per cent, featuring a renovated outdoor space with lawn level picnic tables overlooking the large kids’ playground, leading up to an alfresco dining area.
The interior has also been refreshed, from the front bar to the bistro area, complete with a double-sided fireplace and cosy booth seating.
General manager Jackson Rogers said the revamped venue – now with a 650-person capacity, up by 200 – was designed with the “community in mind”.
“There’s space for local sports clubs to enjoy the game in the sports bar, for friends to gather and share a meal, and for parents to unwind with a drink in hand while keeping an eye on their kids having fun in the playground,” he said.
The menu has a section dedicated to the humble schnitzel, plus a wide selection of pub favourites including several beef, lamb and kangaroo dishes.
There are 16 beers on tap in the new sports bar, which will showcase live and loud sport all year-round, alongside TAB facilities.
Harvest Hotels – which operates pubs in Tamworth, Dubbo, Albury, Wagga Wagga and Central Coast – bought The Aussie Inn in 2022, its first foray outside of regional NSW.
