Buln Gherin at Stockyard Hill sold for $35 million
The well-known sheep and wool property Buln Gherin at Stockyard Hill has been sold to three local buyers.
The historic property Buln Gherin at Stockyard Hill in Victoria’s Western District has sold for $35 million.
The 1882ha mixed farming property, with views of Mt Cole and Mt Langi Ghiran, was listed for sale at the end of May with an asking price of more than $28 million.
Expressions of interest for the property closed at the beginning of July.
The property was purchased by three farmers, from the local area.
Buln Gherin had been owned by Carpenter family and was for sale as a whole or three contingent holdings.
The Carpenter family have run wool and cropping enterprises on the property, including a Merino ewe flock with Nerstane bloodlines.
The property features a six bedroom Californian bungalow style homestead, circa 1920, and a state of the art six stand woolshed with undercover yards.
Its carrying capacity is 28,000 DSE with scope to increase the number with further development.
The property is suited to wool, prime lamb, cattle and cropping pursuits.
