A historic farm in the Western District has been listed for sale with an asking price of $28 million-plus.
The 1882ha property, Buln Gherin at Stockyard Hill near Skipton, is owned by the Carpenter family and will be sold via expressions of interest.
The mixed farming property, with views of Mt Cole and Mt Langi Ghiran, will sold as a whole or three contingent holdings.
The Carpenter family have run wool and cropping enterprises on the property, including a Merino ewe flock with Nerstane bloodlines.
Buln Gherin features a six bedroom Californian bungalow style homestead, circa 1920, and a state of the art six stand woolshed with undercover yards.
Its carrying capacity is 28,000 DSE with scope to increase the number with further development.
The property is suited to wool, prime lamb, cattle and cropping pursuits.
Over the past century, Buln Gherin has been owned by just two families, including the Carpenters.
The property will be marketed by Elders agents Nick Myer and Sean Simpson.
Expressions of interest will close on July 8.
It comes as the renowned livestock and cropping farm Tuloona at Harrow, also in the Western District, hit the market last week for about $30 million.
The 2500ha property is being offered by the Craig family from Adelaide after 40 years of ownership.
