Marble Yakiniku
DIY sizzling wagyu in a refined room.

Marbled beef is the main event at this large restaurant, located in one of Melbourne’s most energetic food neighbourhoods. Spacious wooden booths set between slatted timber screens make for an appealing group dining option. The same goes for the broad food offering, though it can be overwhelming, packed as it is with sushi, hot pot, tempura, curry and gyoza.
Set menus are a canny navigation aid, stepping through pretty sashimi platters, surprising salads – crisp apple and juicy corn in a rice-paper basket – and pure, sweet snow crab tempura. But you’re here for yakiniku, the tabletop-grilled meat that gives the restaurant its name, and it does not disappoint.
Multiple cuts deliver wow factor, whether sourced from Australia or Japan, each one expertly sliced and presented on wooden platters for you to sizzle over charcoal as desired.
