This all-day joint at the entrance to Collingwood Yards is part of a new wave of American-style diners around town. Sidle into a pickle-green leather booth and tackle the popular French dip sandwich – a crusty roll laden with roast beef, cheese and mustard – designed for dunking into the accompanying gravy.
The Goodburger is a hefty construction made with bread-and-butter pickles and a juicy beef patty still sizzling from the grill, while lettuce hearts loaded with parmesan challenge the definition of salad. A soft-crusted slice of cherry pie topped with a dollop of whipped cream is best paired with bottomless Filter coffee.
Perky staff and an Australiana soundtrack provide a cheerful backdrop, and branded diner mugs, caps, and bottles of house-made curry ketchup let you take some good vibes home.
