Black Star Pastry
Contemporary
For us, it's all about the chocolate eclair. For you, it might be the sausage roll, the ginger ninja, or a quiche called Shirley (mushroom and herbs), who we think must be a friend of Lorraine's. Christopher The is a deliciously talented pastry chef, and this tiny bolthole is the heart and hearth of his business. As if the smell of cinnamon isn't enough, there's Little Marionette coffee ($3.20) in the air as well, providing a necessary nutty, robust counterpoint to all that richness. There's loose leaf tea, too, and Turkish cherry iced tea you can take outside and share with the resident garden gnome.
