Don't come here for obscure siphon or pourover bean blends. As owner Kevin Wheeler points out, 'This is Malvern, home of the skinny latte, ' and they do a cracker version with Allpress beans ($3.50): low on acid, with a dense head of milky froth and a sweet aftertaste. (Other blends are occasionally offered up, too.) Fluffy omelettes with a feature flavour every week pull the locals, as do sell-out creamy orange and date scones. More sweets? The central counter is stacked high with stands of iced cakes, gooey slices, muffins and jars of cookies.
