Reality TV star Nathan Favro – of The Bachelorette and Byron Baes – the has landed in hot water over a series of driving blunders.

The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of unlicensed driving in Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Favro was nabbed by police after he was spotted performing an illegal U-turn at the intersection of the Gold Coast Highway and Fourth Ave at Palm Beach on October 9.

He was unable to produce a driver’s licence at the scene, and further checks soon revealed he was under two demerit-point suspensions at the time.

One of those was in place until February next year.

The court was told Favro could not offer a reasonable excuse for being behind the wheel.

His defence solicitor said Favro did not have the correct address listed with the Department of Main Roads, and so did not receive the first notice of his licence suspension.

She said her client would have applied for a work licence if he had been aware, as he was now spending hundreds of dollars a week on Ubers to complete the duties required as director of his business, Favro Property Development.

“Having been before the court for the first time and the lengthy disqualification period he is facing, he is now well aware that having a licence is a privilege,” she said.

Favro was fined $100 and disqualified from driving for six months.

No conviction was recorded.

The social media personality, who boasts more than 54,000 followers on Instagram, gave little comment to reporters after exiting the courthouse beyond again mentioning his move into the property sector.

When questioned as to whether it was a good idea for him to have driven without a licence, Favro said only that he’s “gotta get to work”.

Favro first rose to fame as a contestant on The Bachelorette in 2018, and later joined the cast of the second season of spin-off series Bachelor in Paradise.

He made a return to reality TV earlier this year on Netflix “docusoap” Byron Baes.
