Gold Coast influencer and reality TV star Jade Kevin Foster is “completely shaken” after his luxury car carrying more than $10,000 worth of designer goods was stolen from outside his home and later crashed and dumped.

The star of Netflix reality series Byron Baes was woken by police early Saturday morning after the BMW 320i M Sport registered to him was involved in a police chase on the Ipswich Motorway.

The car was found late Sunday, crashed and abandoned along a highway.

The incident came after Foster was robbed of his engagement ring by a group of men who followed him during a night out in Brisbane in June and assaulted him.

Known for openly sharing his every day life to his 1.2 million Instagram followers, including both his ring and his car, Foster is now contemplating selling his Gold Coast home amid fears he is being targeted.

“I’m feeling completely shaken,” Foster told couriermail.com.au.

“I can’t believe this has happened. I’m putting my house on the market and moving.”

“I just can’t understand that there are people in the world who do this s--t. I worked so hard for everything I have and just find it gobsmacking randoms think they have the right to take it away from you.”

“Instagram is my life and now I’m scared of it a little.”

Foster also starred in Gold Coast film The Possessed alongside John Jarratt and Lincoln Lewis before growing his influence as part of Netflix’s Byron Baes.

As an influencer and brand ambassador, Foster shares his life on his public Instagram as part of his work and income.

He had returned to his Gold Coast home from a work-related photo shoot and left two suitcases of designer clothes and camera equipment in his car before going to bed.

He was woken at around 1am on Saturday morning by four continuous phone calls from a private number.

“It was the police asking me if I was with my car and then they asked me to check and I woke up and went downstairs and the car was gone,” he said.

“The police realised it was stolen after it hit a police car on the Ipswich motorway early hours and then a tree but kept driving. The police were in pursuit of the car for over 9 hours until they lost it and found it (Sunday) afternoon crashed and totalled off a highway.”

“I had only just got home from shooting with two suitcases of brand new designer clothes all my accessories and some jewellery along with my camera – I would say $10,000 to $15,000 (worth) of belongings in the car.”

Foster’s car was insured but the belongings inside aren’t covered by insurance.

There has been a spike in car theft on the Gold Coast with car insurer giant RACQ releasing new data that revealed an 11 per cent increase in the region with 249 claims in the 12 months to July.

Queensland Police have recorded 49,252 instances of unlawful entry on the Gold Coast in the 10 months to October, which had the most instances of the year at 5380.

Foster wasn’t sure if the theft of his car was random or targeted.

He says the incidents he has experienced highlighted the unfortunate risks of sharing your life online.

“A hundred per cent me sharing my life on my Instagram was the cause of my ring robbery. I can’t be 100 per cent sure if the was car now also but I’m scared as s--t now to post anything about my house, live location, neighbourhood – anything,” Foster said.

“I don’t even want to wear my nice clothes out or shoes because I’m just constantly looking over my shoulder sussing everyone out thinking negatively and having no trust.

“I’ve always love being such a trusting person and wanting to see the best in everyone and every situation and now I don’t know, and I don’t want to change myself either but I’ve been so burnt.”
