A star of Netflix’s smash hit reality series Byron Baes yelled “I have 1.2 million Instagram followers, you’re going to lose your jobs” as he was tackled to the ground by a Gold Coast pub’s security guards.

Jade Kevin Foster, 30, was charged with public nuisance after the court heard he was thrown out of The Clock Hotel in Surfers Paradise on September 16.

The court heard Foster – resplendent in a purple tracksuit – tussled with security guards at the venue before he was tackled to the ground and restrained at a distance from the venue on the corner of View Ave and Surfers Paradise Blvd.

“I’m a gay man, I’m going to f**k your lives,” Foster told the security guards.

“I have 1.2 million followers on Instagram, you’re going to lose your jobs – see my outfit, it’s worth more than your houses c**t … this will look good on Instagram!”

Onlookers in the public gallery at Southport Magistrates Court could be heard giggling as the prosecutor read from the account of Foster’s outburst.

Appearing before a magistrate on October 6, Foster pleaded guilty to the charge.

The court heard Foster had previously been issued an infringement notice for a similar offence and had been fined $827 at the time.

Solicitor Brooke Winter told the court alcohol consumption, mental health and a recent medication change were factors in Foster’s “disgusting” behaviour on the night in question.

“He sent an email to our office in which he said ‘I’m embarrassed and disgusted in the behaviour I displayed and vow to never let this happen again’,” Mr Winter told the court.

“He’s on a four-year work contract and he knows his actions could have that all taken away.”

The court heard Foster had worked in telecoms for more than seven years and currently works in social media for himself and for businesses including Netflix and Warner Brothers.

Mr Winter also submitted Foster is involved in many charities and recently won a social media award from the Australian LGBTQI Forum.

Foster – who grew up in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire – first rose to prominence after he was pictured with social media powerhouse Kim Kardashian at an event in November 2014.

He has since worked as a model and was a much-loved star of the Netflix reality TV series Byron Baes, which charted his decision to move from the Gold Coast to Byron Bay.

Magistrate Michelle Dooley reprimanded Foster, saying his conduct was “just not acceptable”.

“It’s up to you to know what your alcohol consumption should be,” Ms Dooley said.

“Everything else that you may have in your life becomes tarnished if you behave in this way in public – it took a lot of people trouble and effort to contain you.”

Noting Foster had previously been fined for a similar matter, Ms Dooley imposed a larger fine of $1400 but spared him a conviction.

Foster declined to comment on the proceedings outside of court.
