Dr McKeown said one of the cases is a healthcare worker, understood to be a nurse, employed at the Mersey Community Hospital.
“Public Health Services has initiated an investigation into this case in conjunction with the Tasmanian Health Service to ascertain the person’s movements at work and in the community to identify any close contacts,” Dr McKeown said.
“The person is fully co-operating with PHS staff. Should any close contacts be determined through this investigation, these people will be contacted by PHS.
“An investigation is also continuing as to how the person caught coronavirus.”
Of the other cases, eight are related to people who have been aboard cruise ships.
These people had already been identified by PHS and were already in self-quarantine.
Two other cases are people who have recently travelled to Tasmania from overseas.
