WITH more than 20 years of experience in Hobart’s food industry, Leo Miller has brought his latest idea – Billy’s Burgers and Bar – to the Elizabeth Street Pier.
Also operating the food van business Shred Burgers and Shimmy Shakes that features at many events around Tasmania, Mr Miller is excited to bring his food to a set location.
The bar opened earlier this week.
“The bar will provide a casual waterfront dining experience,” Mr Miller said.
“We thought about the colour, the various seating heights and even the funny signs in the toilets to help create a fun space.
“It will allow tourists and locals to have an easy and affordable but quality meal on the waterfront, while enjoying a drink.”
The promotion of the bar is set to grow over the coming weeks, including the announcement of its online ordering service, but Mr Miller was happy to keep the first week low-key.
“We didn’t open with any great fanfare because we wanted to keep it quiet in case of any bumps,” Mr Miller said.
“Everything has gone to plan with business really starting to pick up, and even better, the feedback has been great on our social media and from direct feedback.”
Some of the meals already proving popular according to Mr Miller are Billy’s Burger, the Jalapeño Monteray Jack cheese fries poppers and for something a bit different, the dessert loaded fries, which is fries with a soft serve dip.
