Toowoomba’s traffic crime hot spots revealed
Police data has revealed where the drink and drug drivers, and speedsters of Toowoomba have committed the most offences, and the hot spots will surprise you.

Enlightening data from the Queensland Police Service has shown where the traffic crime hot spots are in Toowoomba and exactly when and where offenders behind the wheel have been sprung.
In the last quarter of 2020, between October 2 and January 1, 2021, more than 200 traffic and related offences were committed in the Toowoomba police district.
Traffic-related offences include speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, disobeying a red light, and careless driving or dangerous driving.
Between these dates, 172 of the 217 traffic offences were committed in and around the CBD, near Clifford Park, Grand Central and the Toowoomba Hospital.
A slightly smaller cluster of traffic offences was located near Gowrie Creek.
QPS data showed the majority of traffic offences were committed at noon and midnight, and the month of November recorded the most offences for the quarter, with 91 crimes committed.
The most common day people were most likely to offend was a Saturday, according to the data.
In the Toowoomba LGA, which covers a much larger area including Oakey, 326 offences were committed relating to traffic and driving.
Three large clusters exist on the Warrego Highway between Oakey and Jondaryan and another in Highfields.
Specific streets where the most offenders have been caught are Margaret St, Ruthven St, Herries St, and West St to name a few.
