Emergency services are responding to separate incidents near major Toowoomba schools.

Queensland Fire Department crews have been called to separate crashes near Toowoomba schools this afternoon.

At about 3.20pm on Tuesday two cars collided near the intersection of Hume and North streets, blocking one lane of traffic on North Street.

A QFD spokesman said the crews had to extricate one patient from their vehicle.

Two people with minor injuries were assessed at the scene by Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics.

A short time later, about 3.30pm, two cars collided at the intersection of Mort and Taylor Street, near Toowoomba North State School.

The QFD spokesman said all patients were out of their vehicle upon the fire crews’ arrival and appeared to have only minor injuries.

One patient has been transported to the Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
