Police have renewed their appeal for members of the public to come forward with information about Tayla Spies’ whereabouts.
The 29-year-old Roma mum disappeared on February 2.
She was heading south from Roma along the Carnarvon Highway in a white 2017 dual cab Toyota HiLux with a distinctive black bumper bar, blacked-out wheels (Qld rego 559 GJ7) and has not heard from or seen since.
Detective Inspector Gary Watts said police were focusing their efforts on the tiny Maranoa town of Surat and they believe Tayla was last seen there between 11-11.30am of the day she vanished.
“We did conduct some aerial searches with Polair around the Surat area with negative result,” he said.
“Along with the aerial assets, we have also had police patrols out looking for Tayla and her vehicle.
“We are hoping we can jog someone’s memory and they come forward.”
Tayla’s friends and family have launched their own search efforts to support the police.
“We share her family’s concern,” Inspector Watts said.
“We have grave concerns about her safety, she has gone quiet in the previous times, but never for this long.
“It was her birthday a few days ago, she turned 29 and there was no contact with family which is out of character.”
Tayla is described as caucasian, with brown shoulder length hair, blue eyes, slim build and approximately 170cm tall.
She was last seen wearing a fluorescent pink long-sleeve shirt and light-coloured shorts.
The Queensland Police Service cast a wide net, appealing to community members and travellers from Roma to Dalby across a 300km range in the Maranoa and Western Downs regions.
