The friends and family of Tayla Spies, missing in regional Queensland, are urging for anyone who might have information, even if seemingly insignificant, to come forward.

It comes after the 28-year-old woman was last seen on Sunday, February 2, between the hours of 10am and 1pm travelling along the Carnarvon Highway south of Roma in a white 2017 Toyota HiLux.

According to police, the Roma mother was driving north on the highway just south of the Condamine turn-off, 340km west of Toowoomba and about 500km west of Brisbane.

The Queensland Police Service released three images of missing woman Tayla Spies, the middle of which police say depicts the clothes the 28-year-old mum was last seen wearing.

Police share her family’s serious concerns about her welfare.

In the early days of the search, friend of the young mother posted to social media asking if anyone had seen Tayla, attaching photos of the pair.

Tyran Norford, from the Western Downs, said Tayla hadn’t “made contact or been heard of since” about 11.30am on Sunday, February 2.

“She’s listed on the missing persons, share this post please,” he said.

“She was heading (to) Roma in a white dual cab HiLux, stock as, no bull bar, tub tray newer shape one.”

Investigators say the dual cab ute has a distinctive black bull bar and blacked-out wheels with a Queensland registration plate 559 GJ7.

Tayla’s sister Rebecca Spies, who lives at Roma, shared Mr Norford’s post, appealing for anyone with information to come forward, “no matter how big or small”.

“If any of my friends have seen my sister or heard from her in the past week, please get in touch with the Roma police or myself,” she said.

“Or even if you see a Toyota HiLux that matches this description around the area, just a photo of the car or licence plate will be enough to confirm if it is her car or not.

“Every little bit of information will help us.”

She urged residents and travellers in a number of areas to cast their minds back to Sunday, including Roma and Surat but also Dalby, Toowoomba, Condamine, Meandarra, and Cecil Plains.

Police have cast a wide net, appealing to community members and travellers from Roma to Dalby across a 300km range in the Maranoa and Western Downs regions.

“Tayla is described as Caucasian, with brown shoulder length hair, blue eyes, slim build and approximately 170cms tall,” a police statement read.

“She was last seen wearing a fluorescent pink long-sleeve shirt and light-coloured shorts.

“She is known to frequently travel between Roma and Dalby.”
