Mr Doyle’s case was mentioned at Toowoomba Magistrates Court on June 15, however his appearance was not required.

The court was told Mr Doyle’s case may be moved to the Mental Health Court and police prosecution was working to complete the brief of evidence.

Bouchier Khan solicitor Alysha Jacobsen updated the court on outstanding material which included 12 police officer statements, three Queensland Ambulance Service paramedic statements, a civilian statement, and a pathologist report.

Ms Jacobsen said the pathologist report may take up to 18 months to be completed as only two pathologists in Australia were qualified enough to tackle the task.

Mr Doyle remains in custody, and the case will next be before the court for a mention on July 27.

Police allege the pair were arguing over car keysprior to the violent attack and that Mr Doyle was staying at the Flamingo Rd home for four days, and he had limited contact with police prior to the incident.

Police have charged Mr Doyle with murder, armed robbery with violence, going armed to cause fear, unlawful use of a car, and entering a premise to commit an indictable offence.
