Toowoomba police investigating the shooting death of Thor Morgan have sensationally withdrawn the charge against one of three people charged in relation to the 25-year-old’s death.

Isobel Rose Higgins, 25, was charged with being an accessory after the fact of murder with police initially alleging she had provided a false alibi for her then boyfriend Lachlan Mark Freund, 25, who is charged with murder arising from Mr Morgan’s death.

Lachlan Mark Freund (left) and Tina Kathleen Hazard (middle) are each charged with murder while Isobel Rose Higgins (right) had a charge of being an accessory after the fact of murder dropped in a Toowoomba court on Monday, September 11.

Tina Kathleen Hazard, 36, is also charged with murder arising from the death of Mr Morgan who was shot in the head as he drove on Ruthven St near Downlands College in the early hours of March 15, 2022.

Mr Morgan died as a result of his injuries two months later in a Brisbane hospital.

Ms Higgins was to face Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Monday for a hand-up committal hearing to take her case up to the Supreme Court.

However, she was not required to attend court but was represented by barrister Jessica Goldie and instructing solicitor Alysha Jacobsen of Bouchier Khan Lawyers.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Alistair Windsor told the court that the prosecution would offer no evidence on the charge of accessory after the fact of murder, effectively dropping the charge.

Magistrate Kyna Morice therefore dismissed the charge and discharged Ms Higgins in relation to the matter.

Mr Freund and Ms Hazard remain charged with murder and their respective cases are progressing through the courts.

Neither has as yet been called upon to enter a plea to their respective charge.
