Georgina Ellen Parter, 48, faces Toowoomba court after testing positive for meth while driving twice in one month

For the second time in a month the 48-year-old Toowoomba driver tested positive for meth. This is what happened.

If only that other driver hadn’t crashed into her car in the shopping centre car park, a 48-year-old Toowoomba woman might have escaped her second drug driving offence in a month.

Georgina Ellen Parter had tested positive for meth after being pulled over while driving in Toowoomba on July 19, Toowoomba Magistrates Court was told on Wednesday.

On bail for that offence and before she could have that dealt with by the court, Parter was involved in a two-car collision in the carpark of Bunnings on August 17, police prosecutor Natalie Bugden told the court.

Though she was not at fault in the two-car prang, police drug tested her and she returned a positive test for meth, Sergeant Bugden said.

Parter pleaded guilty to both drug driving offences.

Her solicitor Michael McElhinney told the court the mother of two had endured a difficult life in recent years but she was now engaged with Lives Lived Well to address her drug and other issues.

Magistrate Clare Kelly told Parter she had put herself and others on the road at risk by driving with drugs in her system.

Encouraging her to continue receiving counselling from Lives Lived Well, Ms Kelly fined Partner $300 and disqualified her from driving for one month on the first offence and $350 and a one-month driving disqualification on the second.
