A woman allegedly involved in a string of business break-ins has had her matter mentioned in Toowoomba Magistrates Court.

How do juries decide a verdict?

A Toowoomba woman charged with more than 60 serious offences is expected to have her day in court after months behind bars.

Candace Amy Derksen, 31, was arrested in Toowoomba in July 2022 after allegedly committing numerous offences, including being linked to several beauty salon burglaries with co-accused Bud-Dee Glazbrook, 29.

Ms Derksen, who has been remanded in custody, was not required in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Monday, December 5, as her solicitor Claire Graham of Skuse Graham Criminal Lawyers appeared on her behalf.

Ms Graham, who also represented Mr Glazbrook on behalf of Phillips Crawford Lawyers, told the court a submission had been sent through, which was largely accepted, however she was still in discussions with prosecutors in relation to two charges.

Ms Derksen has been charged with multiple possessing and receiving tainted property offences, stealing, enter dwelling and committing, evasion, wilful damage and more.

Ms Graham told the court Ms Derksen’s case was ready to be pushed forward with the next mention date now scheduled for December 19 with Ms Derksen to appear via video link.

It was understood by Ms Graham that upon resolution of Ms Derksen’s matters, a certain course would be taken in relation to Mr Glazbrook.

Mr Glazbrook remains on bail, with his case to be mentioned in court again on December 19.

Ms Derksen has been remanded in custody.
