A hotel manager will be without his licence for nine months after he was caught drink driving.
Calum Wood Gunnis appeared in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Thursday where he pleaded guilty to driving over the general alcohol limit and breaching a bail condition.
The court was told that about 12.15am on February 16 police intercepted Gunnis on Ruthven Street.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Alister Windsor said when taken back to the station Gunnis returned a reading of 0.072.
Further checks revealed Gunnis was on bail, with a condition he not exceed a blood alcohol limit of 0.05.
Gunnis’ solicitor Claire Graham said her client worked in the hospital industry as the manager of a Toowoomba hotel, and was around alcohol frequently.
Ms Graham said Gunnis had worked the night he had been stopped, and had attended a function before “foolishly” deciding to drive home.
Magistrate Graham Lee fined Gunnis $1050 and disqualified him from driving for nine months.
