Janelle Mulder talks sale on Tinbeerwah mansion family home

A socialite’s mega-mansion with an infinity pool, tennis court and golf course which was once listed for rent at $10,000 has hit the market with hopes for a record sale.

Hopes socialite’s hinterland family mansion will set price record

Hopes a multimillion-dollar Noosa hinterland mansion owned by a socialite will set a record sale price for the area are high, as the owner prepares for the next chapter.

Janelle Mulder, a Perth-born socialite and ex-wife of mining boss Paul Mulder, has lived in her Dath Henderson Rd mansion in Tinbeerwah, called Eagle Nest, with her four sons for the last four years.

Real estate agent Marcus Dolby, who is selling the property, said he hopes it will set a record price for the suburb.

Property records state Ms Mulder bought the seven-bedroom mansion from horse racing industry and developer billionaire Tony Fung for $5m in 2018.

She moved into it shortly after an eight-week renovation.

The seven-bedroom home is perched on a cool 60ha of land, complete with its own private golf course, tennis court, infinity pool and space to land a helicopter.

Six of the seven bedrooms, all of which include ensuites, have balconies.

Property records state the home was listed for sale from $29m in May 2022 and spent 263 days on the market, but did not sell.

It was then listed for rent at an eye-watering $10,000 a week while awaiting a sale.

Records state it was later listed for sale again at expressions of interest in April 2023 and spent 166 days on the market.

Ms Mulder said the property nearly sold a couple of weeks ago.

“It’s peak season now, up here, and fingers crossed it still sells in the next couple of months,” she said.

She described the property as “magical” and “extremely healing” and said real estate agents had described it as “land of the gods”.

“It’s got everything anyone could ever want on the property,” she said.

“There’s not many properties where you can be on top of a mountain where there’s cleared land and … you can see Cooroy Mountain, Pomona mountain, Tinbeerwah mountain and Coolum mountain.

“You can see the ocean from my property … it pretty much has the best sunsets anyone could ever experience.”

The property is listed for sale with Harcourts Property Centre in Noosa.
