A COMPLEX of villas built in 1972 will be demolished to make way for a 21-unit low-rise development.
The Coolum Beach site at 102-104 Coolum Tce is under a demolition application being assessed by Sunshine Coast Council.
Known as Villa Coolum Resort, the site will be cleared to make way for a modern complex of units for short-term accommodation.
The unusual triangular block of land is one block from David Low Way and the beach, and has frontages on Barra Crescent and Coolum Tce.
The development application prepared by Marboo Consulting and using Tim Ditchfield Architects was approved by the council in November last year.
The planned three-storey building will be 8.5m high.
