Sunshine Beach arrest: Man wanted on warrant arrested on Ben Lexcen Dr

A dramatic daytime arrest has unfolded in a wealthy Noosa suburb where a wanted 25-year-old man was tasered and allegedly found with a firearm.

A 25-year-old man has been tasered and taken into custody following a dramatic arrest which unfolded in the wealthy suburb of Sunshine Beach.

Sunshine Coast Tactical Crime Squad officers descended on a Ben Lexcen Dr home about 11.30am on Tuesday in relation to a man wanted on a warrant.

Senior Sergeant Scott Wiggins said the 25-year-old Sunshine Beach man was found in the Noosa region home where he allegedly resisted arrested.

Sergeant Wiggins said police used a taser on the man in order to arrest him.

Police will allege a long-barrelled firearm was also found in his car.

The man was taken into custody and transported to the Maroochydore Police Station and was charged overnight with several drug and weapons offences.

He is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.

Sergeant Wiggins said it was common for officers from the Tactical Crime Squad to assist local stations to apprehend those wanted on warrants.
