Mr Nord was remanded in custody until November 1.

Court documents revealed Mr Nord declined a mental health assessment at the Maroochydore Watch House this morning.

Investigators believe the death occurred as a result of an alleged altercation in the unit around 10pm the previous Friday, August 9.

It will be alleged the two men are known to each other.

The alleged victim’s brother, Danny Green, said he would always be remembered for being a good man.

“It is with a heavy heart I announce the passing of my second born brother Donald Robert Green to family and friends … you lived life to its fullest,” Mr Green said.

“Rest in peace bro.

“See you on the dark side.”

Mr Green said his brother was a beloved father.

“He was a dad to a teenage boy, an uncle, a great uncle and grand uncle loved by a lot of family and friends,” he said.

“Always helping anyone especially the homeless.

Mr Green was born in Papua New Guinea and moved to Australia in 1974.
