Firefighters and police are investigating the cause of a horror blaze that gutted a tyre business on the Sunshine Coast Monday afternoon.
Emergency Services were called to a fire at a commercial building in Maroochydore about 5.40pm Monday.
Upon arrival the business on Sugar Road was fully engulfed in flames however emergency services were able to contain the fire and stop it spreading to other buildings.
Police are investigating the circumstance around the cause of the fire, but it is being treated as non-suspicious at this time.
On Monday, police blocked the busy thoroughfare and firefighters could be seen outside the building.
It is believed a dog was carried out of the building.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the fire was contained to one building and it was believed no one was inside.
Traffic was diverted to the Sugar and Wises roads roundabout.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said large volumes of black smoke had been seen coming from the building prior to emergency services arriving.
“All persons have been accounted for,” he said.
He said six crews went to the scene and the fire was extinguished just before 6.30pm.
The fire spokesman said firefighters would remain at the business to monitor the area.
He said fire investigators would remain on scene Tuesday morning.
