An out of control rave in Noosa’s hinterland which led to police being surrounded by violent party goers when it was shut down has been blamed on a 37-year-old Cooroibah woman.

Dyneea Letish Hall had planned a party at her Cooroibah property on Halloween in 2021 when the event was promoted on Instagram along with her home address.

Noosa Magistrates Court heard police arrived at the raucous event about 8.13pm on October 31 after they received several complaints of “horrifically loud music” and a rave party.

Police prosecutor Nick Nitschke said when officers arrived they saw upwards of 200 drunk people roaming the street, drink driving and littering.

Sergeant Nitschke said this prevented neighbours from taking their kids out to trick or treat on Halloween.

The court was told the music was deafening which forced police to yell at punters to communicate.

Hall was seen by officers collecting money for the event and appeared “drug affected and disinterested” Sergeant Nitschke told the court.

The crowd then turned on police after the music was turned off and punters were asked to move on.

Noosa Magistrates Court heard police began to be surrounded by drug affected men challenging them to fight.

The party was declared “out of control” after the arrest of an aggressive man enraged the hundreds of spectators who watched on.

Numerous people were arrested for drug possession, obstructing police, and disobeying the move on direction while a police vehicle tyre was slashed.

Sergeant Nitschke said units were called from Noosa, Coolum Beach, Eumundi and Nambour as well as two dog squad units to help deal with the fall out.

The court was told that Hall denied there had been a cover charge for the event and said she didn’t hire security.

Sergeant Nitschke said the rave had been the third weekend in a row of parties at the Cooroibah property.

The court heard several weeks later on November 19 police had been called to a noise complaint where they found a marijuana plant on the veranda with Hall and a group of people.

Sergeant Nitschke said she was charged with producing and possessing marijuana.

Defence lawyer Bernard Bradley said Hall had only planned a small gathering however it became out of hand after her address was published on Instagram.

Mr Bradley said Hall had apologised to her neighbours following the party and said the event had finished at 8.15pm.

Hall pleaded guilty to organising an out of control party as well as producing and possessing dangerous drugs and was fined $1200 and ordered to pay $215 restitution to police.

No convictions were recorded.
