A 21-year-old woman accused of hitting a child on an e-scooter, causing serious injuries, has had her matter mentioned in court for the first time.

Maroochydore woman Ava Isabella Ragusa has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing grievous bodily harm after an alleged incident in Maroochydore on August 21 this year.

Her matter was mentioned in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Tuesday, October 22.

When Ms Ragusa was charged in September, police alleged she pulled her Kia Rio out of a driveway onto Main Rd and hit a girl riding an e-scooter on the footpath.

Documents state a full brief of evidence has been ordered.

Court documents show a warrant has been postponed due to Ms Ragusa not appearing in person to sign her bail as she had legal representation.

Her matter was adjourned to December 20 for committal mention and Ms Ragusa’s appearance is required.
