Brief of evidence disclosed for Rafferty Raymond Rolfe accused of Federal triple-fatal crash
A young Sunshine Coast man accused of murdering three people in a Bruce Hwy crash is in Arthur Gorrie prison as the latest in his ongoing court proceedings has been revealed.

A large file of evidence has been provided in the ongoing court proceedings for the man charged with murder following a horror triple-fatal crash on the Bruce Hwy.
Yandina man Rafferty Raymond Rolfe, 26, has been charged with murder for his alleged involvement in a crash near Federal, north of the Sunshine Coast, which killed Gypsy Satterley, Terry Bishop and Jessica Townley on July 21, 2023.
His matters were mentioned in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on November 24 and his appearance was not required.
Defence lawyer Jade Bradley represented Mr Rolfe and told the court a brief of evidence had been provided to her office.
Ms Bradley said she required time to sort through the large file, with more material expected to come.
Court documents previously revealed Mr Rolfe had allegedly stolen an Isuzu MU-X from Gympie and chased a Nissan Navara driven by Mr Bishop, who had picked up Ms Satterley.
It is alleged Mr Rolfe was driving with a disqualified licence.
Police previously alleged three vehicles had collided on the highway, including a Great Wall ute driven by Ms Townley in the opposite lane.
Ms Satterley and Mr Bishop were killed instantly and Ms Townley died at the scene of the crash.
Mr Rolfe was held at Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital for head injuries from the incident and has since been discharged. He is now remanded at Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre.
Mr Rolfe has been charged with three counts of murder, one of stealing a car, stealing, robbery with violence or in company, evading police, driving without a licence and dangerous operations of a vehicle.
One of the murder charges is a domestic violence offence.
He has yet to enter any pleas.
Magistrate Haydn Stjernqvist adjourned the matter to January 19, 2024 and Mr Rolfe’s appearance will not be required in court.
