Rafferty Raymond Rolfe released from hospital, remanded in custody

The Sunshine Coast man charged over the deaths of three people in a horrific crash on the Bruce Highway has had his charges mentioned in court.

A young man charged over a horrific triple fatal crash on the Bruce Highway is being held at Arthur Gorrie prison following his hospital release, a court has been told.

Yandina man Rafferty Raymond Rolfe, 25, briefly had his charges mentioned in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Friday, September 15.

Mr Rolfe faces nine charges including murder, robbery and dangerous operation of a vehicle. He is yet to enter any pleas.

One of the three murder charges is a domestic violence offence.

Mr Rolfe was the sole survivor of a three-car crash on the Bruce Highway near Federal on Friday, July 21, which killed three people including Gypsy Satterly, Terry Bishop and Jessica Townley.

Solicitor Jade Bradley appeared on behalf of Mr Rolfe and told the court he was currently in custody at the Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre.

Court documents state Mr Rolfe was previously treated in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and the Princess Alexandra Hospital for head injuries.

According to court documents, Mr Rolfe allegedly stole a car the day before the incident and was driving with a disqualified license.

The matter was adjourned to October 27, with Mr Rolfe remanded in custody.
