From an island that has regularly hosted celebrities to other exclusive abodes, the Noosa region has beautiful holiday homes that promise exclusivity, breathtaking views or unique features.
Holiday home bookings in the Noosa region have remained strong during the September holidays even though Australians can travel overseas.
Holiday Noosa holiday property manager Laura Flanders said rental bookings were sitting at about 80 per cent for the month.
“This year has been the best for bookings,” she said.
“People are willing to spend a bit more money.
“Bookings have slowed in the past month or two because people are going overseas but they’re strong overall.”
The holiday property manager said the business had added another 12 properties to its holiday rentals in 2022.
Noosa River
Makepeace Island
The island in the Noosa River was named after former resident Hannah “Shotgun” Makepeace and was developed in 2009 as a private retreat for the owners, Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Australia co-founder Brett Godfrey.
In 2011 the doors were opened to others for exclusive use hire.
In August, 2022, it was reported that tennis legend Ash Barty hired the island for her wedding to long-time partner Garry Kissick.
The Courier Mail reported people can rent out the island for more than $18,000 a night.
The island has hosted many celebrities over the years, including movie star brothers Chris and Liam Hemsworth and singer Justin Bieber.

Domic
Domic is a six-bedroom, nine-bathroom premier holiday home in Sunshine Beach.
Owned by Russian hemp tycoon Evgeny Skigin, the Russian “domic” translates to “of having domes” and the home is recessed into the landscape on the edge of Noosa National Park.
It was named as one of Australia’s most unique homes by Australian Traveller in 2021.
