A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital with significant injuries following a crash in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

Paramedics were called to crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle on Landsborough Maleny Rd, Maleny about midday on Wednesday.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, suffered significant pelvic injuries.

He was rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital by paramedics.

The driver of the vehicle, a woman, was also taken to the same hospital in a stable condition.

This comes after a 76-year-old man died in a separate crash between a motorcycle and a car this week at Cootharaba.

Earlier, a 70-year-old man died in a motorbike crash in Kidaman Creek in April and a 21-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash in Witta last month.
