Young boy suffers significant head, facial injuries in balcony fall at Sunshine Beach

A young child has been rushed to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after he fell off a balcony at a Sunshine Coast home.

A young child has been rushed to hospital after a fall off a balcony north of the Sunshine Coast left him with significant injuries.

Paramedics were called to a home at Sunshine Beach after the fall was reported at 10.73am on Saturday, June 14.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the patient was a primary school-aged boy.

She said the boy suffered significant head and facial injuries in the fall.

He was rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition.

As of 11.30am it was not yet clear how far the boy had fallen.
