Man charged after man pinned by car in Kingaroy

Customers and staff at a country service station watched in horror on Thursday afternoon as a man was pinned against a parked car and seriously injured. This is what we know:

A man will face court, accused of deliberately ramming his car into another man at a Kingaroy petrol station, causing severe injury.

A 28-year-old man has been charged after allegedly hospitalising a man he hit and pinned with his car at a Kingaroy Petrol Station on Thursday afternoon.

The Newtown man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing grievous bodily harm.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the victim, a 56-year-old man, sustained a leg injury and lacerations.

“He was taken to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition,” she said.

Queensland Police, Ambulance and Fire and Emergency Services attended the scene to discover three cars damaged.

Police said the incident allegedly involved a mini-van and a parked Holden sedan.

“The vehicle allegedly struck him, pinning him against another vehicle,” a police spokesman said.

QFES ensured the scene was safe and left police to investigate further, they said.

The man is due to face Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 17.
