A South Burnett school has gone into lockdown due to what the education department is describing as a “student behaviour incident”.
It comes after social media post made by Murgon State School alerted parents that it had a “precautionary” lockdown on Thursday morning.
A spokeswoman from the Department of Education said the safety and wellbeing of students and staff was the department’s highest priority.
“The department can confirm Murgon State School completed a brief lockdown today due to a student behaviour incident,” she said.
“Counselling and support are in place for all students and staff who would like to access these services.
“No further details can be provided due to student privacy.
“The school continues to work diligently to promote safe and respectful interactions between students and a safe learning environment for everyone in the school community.”
In the Facebook post, parents were told to contact the school with any concerns.
“The situation was resolved quickly and students returned to normal routines,” the post read.
