Police have two people of interest in custody as investigations into the death of Anuisha Bone continue.
As part of the ongoing police investigation, police took a 25-year-old man into custody in Rockhampton on November 18.
A second man, a 33-year-old from the Sunshine Coast, was taken into custody in the Hervey Bay area on November 22.
Neither of the men have been charged in relation to the homicide, but police said both are people of interest.
It comes as an autopsy on Mr Bone is carried out on Thursday.
Detective Acting Inspector Luke Peachey said both men were helping officers with their inquiries.
“We have two people currently in custody we think will be able to assist us with our inquiries. That’s not to say other persons haven’t been involved,” he said.
“This investigation has been a long and tiring one, but we have a dedicated team of investigators from both Rockhampton CIB as well as from the homicide squad and we will continue to investigate the circumstances of the death of Anuisha Bone.
“We believe we are progressing this investigation in the right direction at the moment but again we are encouraging people with information about it to come forward and give their version of events. We have a number of versions at the moment and it’s just about piecing together everything so we can give the poor family of Anuisha Bone some rest.
“We ask for anyone with any information in regards to this homicide to come forward and talk to police.”
Detective Acting Inspector Peachey said the information people might share could be small, but it might help them find people involved with Mr Bone’s death.
He said while neither men had been charged for the homicide, they have been charged with other unrelated offences.
“They both had return to prison warrants issued by probation and parole and have both been charged with those. They have also been charged with unlawful uses, weapons offences and drugs,” he said.
Detective Acting Inspector Peachey made a public appeal for anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage of two vehicles of interest from November 17 between 2am and 4am to contact them.
“They are a white 2015 Hyundai Tucson and also a white 2021 Toyota Kluger. In particular, we are asking for anyone who might have CCTV footage or dashcam footage and of interest around 2am and 4am around November 17 – in particular around Richardson Road, Norman Road, Feez Street, Moores Creek Road and Yaamba Road between Norman Gardens and Parkhurst to contact either Rockhampton Police or Crimestoppers,” he said.
“We are currently in possession of both of those vehicles but what we are trying to do is map together the circumstance and how those vehicles came to be involved in the homicide investigation.
“Part of our investigation has been going through hours and hours of CCTV, talking to witnesses and through our investigations we believe both (of) these vehicles are vehicles of interest in this investigation. When one of those persons was taken into custody he was in one of those vehicles so we were able to seize that. The other vehicle was recovered in a different circumstance.”
A vehicle police were previously looking for, a green Hyundai Getz, has since been found burnt out at a property at Port Curtis.
