Hundreds without power after crash in Norman Gardens

Hundreds of residents from one of Rockhampton’s northern suburbs are without power after a car crashed into a power pole. DETAILS.

Hundreds of residents are without power in one of Rockhampton’s northern suburbs are without power after a single-vehicle crash.

Emergency crews were called to the incident on Feez St at Norman Gardens about 11am where a vehicle has hit a power pole.

Powerlines have fallen onto the road as a result of the crash.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said they were treating man in his 20s on scene for minor injuries.

An Ergon Energy spokesman said 399 customers were without power, after a cross arm was damaged as a result of the impact.

He said most customers within the area should have power back within an hour, however those in the immediate vicinity of the incident may be without power for longer while crews repair the power pole cross arm.
