A scientist who unintentionally ate cannabis-laced muffins at a friend’s house and a taxi driver with meth in her system are among the latest traffic offenders to face court.

The following people pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court to either drink driving or drug driving offences.
Drink driving

Shane Desmond Kay, 41
Kay blew a reading of .123 after police tested him at Cracow on April 12.
He pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 8 to drink driving.
With a previous similar offence in the past five years, Kay, a semi-retired farmer, was fined $900 by Magistrate Mary Buchanan and disqualified from driving for six months.

Froilan Leynes Adarlo, 41
Adarlo blew a reading of .138 after he was intercepted by police on Flinders Parade, Gladstone, on July 12.
He pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 14 to drink driving.
With no prior offending of this sort, Adarlo, employed, was fined $750 by Magistrate Mary Buchanan and disqualified from driving for four months.
No traffic conviction was recorded.

Bernice Lee Collins, 41
Collins had methamphetamine in her system when police intercepted her on the Bruce Highway at Calliope, on March 16.
She pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 8 to drug driving.
With no prior similar offending of this sort, Collins, a pest technician, was fined $450 by Magistrate Mary Buchanan and disqualified from driving for two months.
She successfully applied for a restricted work licence.

Dylan Casey Collins, 32
Collins had cannabis in his system when police tested him on Gladstone - Mount Larcom Rd, on May 24.
He pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 14 to drug driving.
With no similar offending in the past five years, Collins was fined $350 by Magistrate Mary Buchanan and disqualified from driving for one month.
A traffic conviction was recorded.
Darren Allen Murray, 57
Murray had methamphetamine in his system when police intercepted him on the Bruce Highway at Benaraby, on May 4.
He pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 8 to drug driving.
With no similar offending in the past five years, Murray, an operator, was fined $450 by Magistrate Mary Buchanan and disqualified from driving for one month.

Reed Joseph Bunyan, 29
Bunyan had cannabis in his system when police tested him on the Dawson Highway at Calliope, on May 18.
He pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 8 to drug driving.
With no prior similar offending, Bunyan, a tyre fitter and welder, was fined $400 by Magistrate Mary Buchanan and disqualified from driving for two months.
A traffic conviction was recorded.
Anthony John Byers, 31
Byers had cannabis in his system when police tested him on Stowe Road, Calliope, on May 18.
He pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 8 to drug driving and obstructing police.
The court heard that after he was intercepted, Byers “made the job hard” for police and he also slammed his keys on the police vehicle.
With one prior similar traffic offence in the past five years, Byers was fined $800 by Magistrate Mary Buchanan and disqualified from driving for three months.

Victoria Margaret Shearer, 50
Shearer had cannabis in her system when police intercepted her on the Bruce Hwy at Benaraby, on May 1.
She pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 14 to drug driving.
Solicitor Sophie-Lee Oliver said Shearer, a scientist and mother of three, had unintentionally eaten cannabis-laced muffins at a friend’s house before driving.
With no prior offending of this sort, Shearer was fined $350 by Magistrate Mary Buchanan and disqualified from driving for one month.
No traffic conviction was recorded.
Emily Sarah Ellis, 45
Ellis had methamphetamine in her system when police intercepted her on Glenlyon Street, Gladstone, on May 9.
She pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 8 to drug driving.
With no prior similar offending, Ellis, a taxi driver, was fined $450 by Magistrate Mary Buchanan and disqualified from driving for one month.
It was not alleged that Ellis committed this offence while on duty as a taxi driver.
No traffic conviction was recorded.
