Drink drivers or drug drivers who faced Gladstone court

A man who operates his own construction company and a labourer were among the latest drug driving offenders to face Gladstone court.

The following people pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court to either drink driving or drug driving offences.

Colby Bryce Daniels, 28

Probationary licence holder Daniels blew a reading of .140 after he was intercepted by police on Goondoon Street, Gladstone, on June 19.

He pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 1 to drink driving.

With one prior similar offence in the past five years, Daniels, who recently lost long-term employment, was fined $850 by Magistrate Edwina Rowan and disqualified from driving for eight months.

A traffic conviction was recorded.

Jessica Amelia Cook, 33

Cook blew a reading of .054 after police intercepted her driving on the Bruce Highway at Benaraby on April 4.

She pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on June 24 to drink driving.

With no prior similar offending in the past five years, Cook was fined $450 by Magistrate Mary Buchanan and disqualified from driving for one month.

Paul Campbell Tawhai, 58

Tawhai had methamphetamine in his system when he crashed his car into a road sign on Auckland Street, Gladstone, on April 15.

He pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 1 to charges including drug driving.

With prior similar offending on his traffic history, Tawhai, a father, was placed on 15 months’ probation by Magistrate Edwina Rowan and disqualified from driving for three months.

Nikita Van Der Berg, 26

Van Der Berg had cannabis in her system when she was intercepted by police on Kirkwood Road on April 27.

She pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 1 to drug driving.

With no prior similar offending, Van Der Berg, an unemployed mum and a medicinal cannabis user, was fined $400 by Magistrate Edwina Rowan and disqualified from driving for one month.

A traffic conviction was recorded.

Kani Lisa Huntington, 20

P-plater Huntington had cannabis in her system when she was tested by police at West Gladstone on April 24.

She pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 1 to drug driving.

With no prior similar offending of this sort, Huntington, employed, was fined $350 by Magistrate Edwina Rowan and disqualified from driving for three months.

Jarred Simon Bradford, 19

P-plater Bradford had cannabis in his system when police intercepted him at Toolooa, Gladstone, on May 13.

He pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 1 to drug driving.

With two previous similar offences in the past five years, Bradford, a labourer, was placed on six months’ probation by Magistrate Edwina Rowan and disqualified from driving for six months.

Ross Fletcher, 37

Probationary licence holder Fletcher had both methamphetamine and cannabis in his system when police tested him on Tannum Sands Rd, Tannum Sands, on May 5.

He pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 1 to drug driving.

With no similar offending in the past five years, Fletcher, a father of two on medicinal cannabis, was fined $500 by Magistrate Edwina Rowan and disqualified from driving for three months.

Jordan James Michael Donald, 33

Donald had both methamphetamine and cannabis in his system when police intercepted him on Gladstone-Benaraby Rd at South Trees, on February 2.

He pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 1 to drug driving.

With similar prior offending in the past five years, Donald, a single dad of three who operates his own construction company, was fined $500 by Magistrate Edwina Rowan and disqualified from driving for three months.

A traffic conviction was recorded.

Scott Ian Bressler, 45

Bressler had both methamphetamine and cannabis in his system when police intercepted him on the Bruce Highway at Foreshores, on December 25 last year.

He pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 1 to drug driving.

With one previous similar offence in the past five years, Bressler, a Bundaberg dad of four on a disability pension and subscribed medicinal cannabis, was fined $800 by Magistrate Edwina Rowan and disqualified from driving for four months.

Edward John Hitchen, 41

Hitchen had cannabis in his system when police tested him on Bicentennial Road, Boondall, on April 13.

He pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 1 to drug driving.

With no prior similar offending of this sort, Hitchen, a labourer and medicinal cannabis oil user, was fined $350 by Magistrate Edwina Rowan and disqualified from driving for one month.

Benjamin Glenn Burrows, 34

Burrows had both cannabis and methamphetamine in his system when police intercepted him on Dawson Road, West Gladstone, on March 25.

He pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on June 24 to drug driving.

With one prior similar offence in the past five years, Burrows, an employed father who had been attending drug rehabilitation, was fined $550 by Magistrate Mary Buchanan and disqualified from driving for three months.

A traffic conviction was recorded.
