A woman was flown to hospital in the early hours of Tuesday morning after her car crashed down an embankment between Rockhampton and Mackay.

Emergency crews, including the CapRescue helicopter, were called to the single-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway near St Lawrence about 1.16am.

The woman’s car went over a barrier before ending up down an embankment on the side of the road.

A spokeswoman for Queensland Fire Department said the woman was not trapped in the vehicle when their crew arrived about 2am.

She was then flown to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition.

It wasn’t the only crash that kept Central Queensland’s emergency services busy overnight.

Crews were called to a crash on Mills Ave at Moranbah about 9.39pm on Monday night after a vehicle hit a tree.

One man was taken to Moranbah Hospital in a stable condition.
