A woman has been rescued after being injured by a falling rock about 30 to 40 metres into a cave in Central Queensland.

A woman has been rescued after being injured by a falling rock about 30 to 40 metres into a cave in Central Queensland.
Emergency services were tasked to a vertical rescue job at Rossmoya Rd, The Caves, about 25 minutes north of Rockhampton, at about 3.50pm Saturday.
According to the Queensland Ambulance Service, the woman, aged in her 20s, was stuck 30 to 40 metres down a cave with a leg injury.
“She appears to have sustained an upper leg injury,” a QAS spokesman said on Saturday.
“We have communication with the woman.
“The extrication is going to take a period of time.”
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said on Saturday night that four crews including specialist rescue crews were tasked to the scene.
“Two technical rescue personnel made access to the cave entrance at about 5.50pm and by 6.35pm had made access to the people,” the spokeswoman said Saturday night.
At 8pm, they started the ascent from the cave, before the woman was brought out safely.
She was taken to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition.
