A man was fighting for life after being bitten by a snake north of Toowoomba on Tuesday night.

A man was fighting for life after being bitten on the hands by a snake on Tuesday night.

Emergency services responded to a snake bite report on Obrien Road in Highfields north of Toowoomba at 9.36pm.

Queensland Ambulance Service said the man suffered snake bites to the hands.

Paramedics accessed a man in his 30s who suffered life-threatening injuries and transported him to Toowoomba Base Hospital.

The snake drama is the latest in a series which included two snake bites in Gladstone and one on the Sunshine Coast earlier this month.

Beau Horan, a 16-year-old boy recently died after being bitten by a brown snake in Gladstone.

Beau saved four lives through organ donation, which also gave his family two more days to say goodbye.

Last week, a Queensland mother praised the bravery of her children and the health professionals who helped her when she received a potentially deadly bite from an eastern brown snake.

Hannah Crompton was bitten at her Calliope home in Central Queesnland only 30 hours into 2025.

“My eldest immediately rang triple-0 and was very calm,” she said.

Ms Crompton received blood tests every four hours and had hourly observations.
