A young girl was rushed to hospital in a critical condition after an incident at a private property at Glenella.

A young girl was rushed to hospital in a critical condition after a horror incident at a private property in Mackay.

Queensland Ambulance Service crews were called about 5pm Saturday following reports a girl in her teens had been trapped under a trailer.

The incident occurred at a private property at Glenella.

On arrival paramedics found the girl, 12, in a critical condition.

She was taken to Mackay Base Hospital with significant head injuries for treatment.

As of Sunday morning the girl remains in hospital and is now in a stable condition.

Mackay police were also called to the scene.

Later that night paramedics were called to a separated incident at Saint Lawrence where a man and woman, both aged in their 20s, suffered minor injuries after a vehicle crashed into a cow on the Bruce Highway at 11.35pm.

Both were taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition.
