Shocking photos have been released of the damage to home after a Tesla ploughed into it in Ipswich.

The photos come as a man was charged with dangerous driving causing serious harm to his passenger after allegedly driving at high speeds and crashing into the Sadliers Crossing home.

Police will allege a 32-year-old Brassall man drove a Tesla along Tiger Street in Sadliers Crossing, Ipswich, on September 30.

It will be alleged the car reached speeds of up to 150kmh in a 50kmh zone moments before crashing into the front room of a home.

The photos show one entire side of weatherboard home destroyed, with contents of the home spilling out, along with a mangled front metal fence.

Another photo shows a damaged grey Tesla stopped on grass, with its airbags released, a person laying along side it and debris behind.

The driver and a 29-year-old male passenger both received non-life threatening injuries.

The driver has been issued a notice to appear in court for dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm and driving over the general alcohol limit.

He is expected to appear before the Ipswich Magistrates Court on January 12.

Ipswich District Acting Superintendent Jim Munckton said it was another a stark reminder for drivers to take additional care when driving on the roads.

“Even momentary recklessness can have catastrophic and life changing outcomes,” Superintendent Munckton said.

“Speed is one of the Fatal Five and every kilometre over the limit, you are putting yourself and others at risk.”
