A Gympie business owner has been charged with several offences after an alleged early morning attack against a council contractor during which a forklift was used to attack the worker’s car.

A Gympie businessman has been charged over an alleged early morning attack during which a Gympie Regional Council contractor was allegedly assaulted and his vehicle tipped over with a forklift.
Jed Sheridan, 31, has been charged with one count of assault occasioning bodily harm, one count of wilful damage and one count of unlawfully entering a vehicle as a result of the incident which happened early in the morning of Wednesday, July 26.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Excelsior Rd, about one block from the Aldi supermarket in Gympie, at 7.30am.
A forklift had been allegedly used to push the contractor’s vehicle onto its side before being left in a nearby ditch after the incident.
The contractor was taken to Gympie Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Mr Sheridan is scheduled to appear at Gympie Magistrates Court on August 14, 2023.
