Future Gympie school leaders revealed
The school leaders of 2025 have shared their goals and visions for 2025, and the reasons they love their school. See the full list and photos:

Most schools across the Gympie region have announced their school leaders for 2025.
Cooloola Christian College has announced Mia Mallett as school captain, and Travis Nolan and Miah Birt as the vice-captains.
“The 2025 leadership team is a group of exceptional individuals committed to serving and inspiring our school community. We recognise the importance of character, humility, and faith in leadership” the college said in a newsletter.
“It has been a blessing to be learning at CCC for 13 years,m” Mia said.
“I’m excited to contribute to our school community, fostering a spirit of excellence.
“I want to create a community that embodies our school values, inspiring individuals to transform into becoming their best selves.
“At CCC, I have attended camps like Emu Gully and leadership camps where I can develop my leadership skills.
“Through the provided lessons at CCC, Biblical classes teach the fundamental principles of the Gospel.
“Being a ‘one school for life’ student is something I will hold dear, knowing that what Cooloola Christian College has provided will help guide me with the best tools throughout life, during and after my time in school.”
“My name is Travis Nolan and I have the pleasure of being one of the vice captains at Cooloola Christian College in 2025,” Travis said.
“My goal for next year is to maintain the inclusive and welcoming culture already established within the school’s community.
“Throughout my time at the college, I have learnt a number of great leadership attributes such as acknowledging that everyone is different and that it is important to accommodate for that, and to always commit the work you do to God.”
“Going in to next year, I am looking forward to the opportunities presented where I can grow as a leader and learn more
about the importance of God and his impact on our lives.”
“My name is Miah Birt, I’m 16 years old and have been at CCC since Year 2,” said Miah.
“Over the years, I’ve learned the importance of strong, supportive leadership and the importance of teamwork within the leadership team.
“For 2025, I would like the leadership team to focus on strengthening the community within the college.
“I’m excited to work together with my peers to create a positive, engaging environment where everyone can be themselves and we can thrive as a community.
“As we look to 2025, I look forward to celebrating with peers as we embrace our final year at CCC, marking the end of an important chapter in our lives.”
St Patrick's College 2025 school captains will be Cooper McCallum and Ava Smith, and heartwarming videos of the two letting their families know of the honour have been posted to the school Facebook page.
“We are so pleased and excited to introduce our College Captains for 2025,” the video says.
“Congratulations students we are all very proud of you.
“Enjoy the moment where our 2025 captains rang their family to let them know their achievement.
“Thank you to everyone involved and allowing us to capture this moment.”
James Nash State High School has also announced their 2025 school captains.
“These outstanding students have been chosen for their leadership, dedication, and commitment to making our school community the best it can be,” it said.
“We are confident they will lead with passion and inspire their peers to engage, empower and excel throughout the year.
“Let’s congratulate them on this incredible achievement and wish them every success as they take on this important role.”
Victory College on Old Maryborough Road, was founded in 1980 and has more than 700 students today.
The college has selected their School Captains for their Primary, Middle College, and Senior Leadership for 2025. Let’s get to know the exceptional students who were selected to lead their peers:
Victory College’s Faith Captain for 2025, Jimmy Clouston, has been a key figure in the Senior Chapel services, frequently hosting and leading. A recipient of one of this year’s Academic Excellence awards, Jimmy is also a talented performer, contributing to the College Drama productions and musicals.
His academic interests include Modern History, and outside the classroom, he is dedicated to Mixed Martial Arts, set to achieve his black belt in December.
Jimmy’s leadership and diverse talents make him an inspiring role model for the College community.
Olivia Sindel, the 2025 Senior Service Captain at Victory College, is a talented and passionate musician.
She excels as a guitarist, pianist, and vocalist, performing with the College Chapel Band and at community events in Gympie. This year, Olivia was honoured with an Academic Excellence award.
Beyond music, she has been an active member of the Australian Air Force Cadets for two years, gaining valuable skills and knowledge. Olivia’s dedication to service and her vibrant contributions to College life embody the spirit of leadership.
Sarah Cassar, Victory College’s Community Captain for 2025, is a gifted musician who has showcased her piano skills at numerous College events. Recognized with an Academic Excellence award this year, Sarah is also an avid reader who enjoys movies, video games, and board games. Her commitment to the College’s values of Honour, Service, and Excellence has been evident throughout her journey at Victory. Sarah’s enthusiasm and well-rounded abilities make her an inspiring leader in the College community.
Victory College’s 2025 Head Prefect, Georgia Douglas, is a high-achieving student, earning for highest subject achievement for a number of Senior subjects this year. A versatile talent, she enjoys chess, cooking, and playing piano and guitar.
Georgia is also an accomplished athlete, excelling in mixed martial arts and squash. Her wide-ranging interests and dedication to excellence highlight her commitment to leading by example, making her a standout leader for the Victory College community.
The Middle College Captains wrote a little about themselves and their new role:
“My name is Eli McGregor, and I am the Middle College Faith Captain for 2025. I started at Victory College in Year 7 and was a Primary School Captain at my previous school at Pomona.
“I enjoy playing rugby union, soccer, futsal and like playing most team and individual sports. I am dedicated to my work while also participating in all events, like swimming, cross country and athletics carnivals. I work well in teams and encourage all people around me. “I applied for the captaincy role so I can be part of the school community and represent the school in the best way I think is possible.
“I believe that integrity, honesty and a strong work ethic are important characteristics that leaders should seek to uphold, and believe that leaders should positively influence the people around them.”
“My name is Manav Patel, and I am the Middle College Service Captain.
“I have been at Victory College for my whole schooling life.
“My key interests include playing cricket every weekend and talking to friends and family. I also love reading non-fiction books like autobiographies.
“I wanted to become a Middle School Captain mainly to help people. I am actively involved in representing my school and the community.
“As a leader at Victory College, I aim to help and support my peers, particularly those who are facing difficulties or challenges. I believe that supporting and serving others is an important way of giving back to the community.”
“My name is Olivie Rehakova and I am the Middle School Community Captain at Victory College.
“I strive to be a kind, friendly, and helpful person, and enjoy spending time supporting at school and community events, providing a helping hand anywhere I can.
“I am a confident public speaker and am reliable and responsible. I applied for a leadership position so that my attributes could help others and so that I could continue striving to do my best and be able to become a role model that others can look up to.
“In my free time, I enjoy art hobbies such as drawing and painting. I also enjoy crochet and reading. As a Middle College captain, I hope to achieve my academic goals while demonstrating the school’s values of Honour, Service, and Excellence.
Keeva is a confident and caring student who is always willing to help and encourage others. She consistently upholds the values of the College of honour, service and excellence and wants to help students connect with God. Keeva is involved in the Victory College community by being on our student representative council this year and playing netball on one of the College teams. She is part of the Victory Arts singing program and loves dancing, craft and riding her rip stick.
Siebel is a friendly and helpful student who exemplifies the Victory Way and loves being given extra responsibilities. Siebel wants to be a leader who inspires others to be who they want to be and someone that other students come to with ideas. She is involved in the community by being part of Victory Arts in both choir and piano, along with representing the College in running. Siebel enjoys mountain biking, roller skating and touch, as well as art and photography.
Fraser is a reliable and respectful student who represents the College in running at both the Cross Country and Athletics events. He wanted to be a primary captain so that he could be a positive role model to the other students and to encourage students to take pride in Victory College. Fraser helps those around him and is a good listener. He enjoys playing sport with cricket, AFL and soccer being his favourites, and he likes drawing and fishing in his free time.
There are other schools across Gympie that are yet to announce their new leadership for 2025, with some planning to make the announcements early next year.
