Six people have been rushed to hospital after a nasty head-on collision near Agnes Water on Friday morning.

Six people have been rushed to hospital and four others assessed after a horror head-on crash near Agnes Water on Friday morning.

Just before 11am, a four-wheel drive collided head-on with a hatchback heading in the opposite direction, at the intersection of Bicentennial Drive and Round Hill Road.

Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed 10 people were assessed at the scene, with two people, a girl with leg injuries and a woman in her 50s with chest injuries, taken to Gladstone Hospital in a stable condition.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted a woman aged in her 50s, who was the front seat passenger of the hatchback, to Bundaberg Hospital.

She suffered suspected arm, pelvic and chest injuries and was taken in a stable condition under the care of an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue QAS Flight Paramedic.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter pilot was able to land the aircraft on a stretch of road, which was closed by Queensland Police Service officers.

Three other people were taken by road to Bundaberg Hospital and four other people assessed at the scene declined transport.
