For people with disability living in rural areas, it can be difficult to know where to look for quality resources and support services. Some find they do not have the same resources as those who live in metropolitan areas.

Fortunately, the Regional Disability Expo aims to point people in the right direction.

Regional Disability Expo director Sharon Fulwood said the annual event was an invaluable experience for visitors with plenty of information at their fingertips.

“The expo goes beyond support for people with disability, and disability carers,” Ms Fulwood said.

“We also see students or graduates who are looking for carer support, or grandparents wanting advice on how to care for their disabled grandchild. There is something for everybody here.”

In its fifth year in Toowoomba, the expo will see 100 exhibitors provide support and share a wealth of knowledge on a range of topics like the autism spectrum, sporting injuries and physiotherapy, hearing impairments, guide dogs, and more.

Guests can also see hospital bed demonstrations, find support from three of the attending nursing providers, or speak to the many care service exhibitors such as Community Access Care, Blue Iris, and Adapt Housing.

“I always get amazing feedback from Toowoomba locals … I love hearing about the growth and development in knowledge in carers and even people with disability it’s just lovely,” Ms Fulwood said.
