Try with Mirra partners with White Runway allowing brides the dress fitting experience in their own home

An innovative retail service is saving regional brides thousands while giving them a showroom experience in the comfort of their own home. Here’s how.

If you’re planning your dream wedding and looking for ways to save on extra costs, like dress fittings, imagine being able to try on a string of wedding dresses in the comfort of your own home, for free.

This idea has now been made possible by the creative and innovative minds behind Try with Mirra in collaboration with White Runway boutique.

The service allows future brides to select up to three dresses to try before White Runway sends them out for free.

Try with Mirra co-founder Shannon Rees said the service was unlike those who ‘buy now pay later’.

“There’s an authorisation but it’s not fully captured so what we’re saying to the customers is we need to make sure there’s funds available if you keep this order but we’re not going to fully charge it yet,” Ms Rees said.

“You’ll try it on and then as soon as you decide which one is the right dress for you we take the payment for that one and will immediately release the funds back for the other dresses that you didn’t need.”

Ms Rees said she’s seen a major uptick in customers seeking out high end, quality fashion as well as an increase in customers from rural areas.

A struggle many new brides face is finding a bridal store that will allow them to bring along family members or take photos of the dresses.

It’s a conundrum White Runway founder Bessy Mouzourakis knows all too well and one of the reasons behind her decision to partner with Try with Mirra.

Ms Mouzourakis said the service has saved women thousands from having to purchase multiple items to try on only to return them.

“I would say it’s really allowed customers to try more items whereas before they used to be really strategic and think I’ll just try this one and then if that doesn’t work out I’ll return it,” she said.

“Now they can go ahead and do it without worrying.”

Ms Mouzourakis said the service has broken down the barriers particularly for regional women, who would ordinarily have to travel long distances for a fitting.

“It’s giving you a bridal showroom in your home,” she said.

“It (also) takes away the pressure of having to take people with you to a shop and takes away the pressure of a salesperson as well.”
