Top 5 formal makeup artists in Toowoomba 2024
In a tough competition between more than 30 makeup artists in Toowoomba, a winner has emerged with four closely behind. Meet the top five people to get your formal makeup done by:

As formal season approaches and senior school students are wanting to look as good or even better than their final grades for their formal, finding a makeup artist who can let both your beauty and individual expressions shine is paramount.
In a competition which saw 32 makeup artists battle for the title of Toowoomba’s best formal makeup artist, one artist managed to take the lead and win by a landslide of votes in the last 24 hours.
Securing a place in the top five was not easy however, with only a fraction of votes between them.
Meet the top 5 formal makeup artists of the region:
1. Bella Beauty by Gee
This year Bella Beauty by Gee owner Giana-Francesca has been given the title of Toowoomba’s best formal makeup artist, taking home the title with 20 per cent of the votes.
“I love doing formal makeup as I love bringing out my clients inner beauty,” she said.
“A lot of the time they don’t know much about makeup and I love educating them on colours and styles that will make their features stand out and compliment their dress.”
2. Mirror Mirror Makeup Artistry
Taking second place was Stacey Morris of Mirror Mirror Makeup Artistry with 12 per cent of votes.
Ms Morris is an established Toowoomba makeup artist working in the region for more than 12 years.
Her tips for preparing for a formal makeup is “its never too soon to book”, look through makeup artists social media to help choose the style and artist you want, and book a trial first, so on the day “you can just eliminate any worry”.
3. Luminosa
Coming in third place, only two votes behind Mirror Mirror with 11 per cent of the vote was Luminosa.
The team at Luminosa includes Ellie Burgoyne, Amy Grandison, Vanessa Coonan and Jaime Prouten.
“Knowing how to communicate effectively and reading the energy of a client, and of course staying on top of all the current trends and techniques,” Ms Coonan said.
4. Sweet Cheeks Mobile Makeup
Harna Robertson from Sweet Cheeks Mobile Makeup came in fourth, also only two votes shy of third place with 10 per cent of the vote.
“Each person that sits in your chair has a different idea of what makeup is and the look they want to achieve,” she said.
“So the key is to make them feel like they are being heard and know you are listening to their concerns and ideas.”
5. Dani Flint MUA
Nipping at the heels of the top three, Dani Flint successfully made it into the top five, only one vote behind Sweet Cheeks, but also holding onto 10 per cent of the total tally of votes.
“The best makeup artist for formals understands the importance of creating a look that enhances natural beauty while ensuring durability for an entire evening of celebration,” she said.
“Recognising that this night is a significant milestone, it is important to prioritise attention to detail, personalised consultations, and the use of high-quality products to achieve a flawless, long-lasting finish that makes every client feel confident and glamorous.”
